The earth is one of God’s greatest gifts to us and we were charged to be its keeper and steward. Many people connect most deeply to our spirituality and to God in nature. We feel that it is part of our walk as Christians to care for the planet.

Stewards of God’s Creation
First Church is a member organization of the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network. The IREJN empowers and inspires religious communities in Connecticut to be faithful stewards of the Earth.
First Church supported the founding of the Jonah Center for Earth and Arts, under the leadership of Rev. John Hall. The Jonah Center fosters more sustainable relationships between people, other creatures, energy resources and the environment through collaboration, education, community action, and art.
