Are you looking for a hands-on way to help those in need?

That’s what the Outreach Committee does. We find ways to help those in our church and in the Middletown community who are challenged due to housing problems, mental illness, poverty, unemployment or underemployment, and more.

What We Do

We organize a school supply drive every fall for kids going off to school. We help out with scholarships for camp. We serve two suppers per year at St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen and recruit church members to help out.

We also join with the UCC to make contributions to Neighbors in Need and the One Great Hour of Sharing offering every year.

Green Envelope offerings

The green envelopes you see in your pew are set aside for donations to various groups that we choose monthly. That’s our way of encouraging others to make small donations that add up. For 2025 our green envelope offering recipients are:

  • September 2026 – Neighbors in Need
  • October  2026- Connecticut Foodshare
  • November 2026 -TBD
  • November 30th 2026 – TBD
  • December  2026 -TBD
  • January  2027- TBD
  • February 2027 -TBD

Are you interested in joining the Outreach Committee?

We meet once a month, and our members spend about 4-5 hours a month in outreach efforts. We feel good about what we do – it’s a very concrete hands-on way to help people.

No matter who you are,

there’s a place for you here.
